SLOW GLOBAL GROWTH EXPECTATIONS WORRY MARKETS. Market volatility continued in September with broad based downward pressure on global equity markets driven again by concerns over China’s slowdown and another delay in the Fed’s decision of when to begin raising interest rates. The grim global outlook has been somewhat balanced by continuing growth in the U.S. despite some weaker readings in September. The third release of second quarter U.S. GDP showed an increase to 3.9% growth from the prior estimate of 3.7% growth,
driven by higher consumer spending and business investment than previously reported.
