Charles K. Evers

Chairman of the Board

 

A former mayor of Forest Hills, Charles is a retired chairman of American Bread Company. Previously, he served as a jet pilot in the U.S. Air Force and ANG until retiring in 1986 with the rank of Major General USAF/ANG. He is a former chairman of the Quality Bakers of America Coop, Inc. of Greenwich, Connecticut and has served as Trustee for the National Guard Association Pension Fund, Washington D.C. He received a B.A. degree in economics from Vanderbilt University.

 


 

Ernie Bacon

Director

 

Ernie Bacon is a consultant focusing on healthcare operations and has served as a senior executive with healthcare companies including HCA, HealthTrust, and Community Health Systems. A former two-term alderman for Franklin and a founding member of Franklin Tomorrow, Ernie is a past president of the Heritage Foundation and of Historic Carnton Plantation. He holds a degree in pharmacy from the University of Tennessee and a Masters of Hospital Administration from the Medical College of Virginia.

 


 

Charles E. Blankenship, Jr.

Director

 

Charles Blankenship is the former President & Chief Operating Officer of Investment Scorecard, Inc. Prior to his association with Investment Scorecard, he was cofounder and President of Network Data Corporation, which was acquired in 1995 by a division of Wal-Mart. From 1983 to 1986, he was a cofounder and vice president of MicroBilt Corporation (a NASDAQ company). He serves as a member of CapControls LLC and Beacon Technologies Boards of Directors. A Nashville native, Charles earned a B.E. from Vanderbilt University.

 


 

William E. Cherry

Director

 

Bill Cherry is currently a Williamson County farmer raising commercial grade cattle. He is the retired chief executive officer and president of Mid States PLC, an automotive replacement parts supplier to the Southeastern U.S. A member of the First Franklin Presbyterian Church, he attended Battle Ground Academy, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Tennessee at Nashville.

 


 

E. Bedell James, III

Director

 

Bedell James is the director of development for the Ensworth School in Nashville. Prior to assuming that role, he spent over six years with Independence Trust Company, most recently as the senior vice president in charge of the administration department. He holds a B.A. in political science from Lynchburg College.

 


 

Michael J. McNamara M.D.

Director

 

Dr. McNamara is an Associate Professor in Orthopaedics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He practices at the Vanderbilt Bone and Joint Clinic in Franklin where he specializes in spinal surgery. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, he received his medical degree from Duke University of Medicine. Following completion of his residencies in Orthopaedics, Dr. McNamara completed his fellowship in Spinal Disorders at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. McNamara previously served as president and partner of the Bone and Joint Clinic, P.C.

 


 

Joseph E. Maxwell

Director

 

Joe Maxwell is the current CEO of CapControls, LLC and founder and former Chairman and CEO of Investment Scorecard, Inc. Joe serves as a member of CapControls, Beacon Technologies, Mobular Technologies and YPO Boards of Directors. A native of Huntington, West Virginia, Joe earned a B.A. from Denison University and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management.

 


 

R. Patrick Shepherd

Director

 

Pat Shepherd is senior managing partner and chief executive officer of Avondale Partners, LLC an investment banking and research firm founded in 2001. He previously served as a partner and general counsel at J.C. Bradford & Company. A member of the audit committee for the Diocese of Nashville and chairman of the Endowment for the Advancement of Catholic Schools, Pat received his B.B.A. from Notre Dame and his J.D. from DePaul.

 


 

Marcia E. Williams, CFA

President, Chief Executive Officer & Director

 

Marcia Williams is founder and president of Independence Trust Company. She oversees all aspects of the company and directly participates in the investment management and business development activities of the firm.

 

Prior to forming ITC, she served as senior portfolio manager at First American Trust where she managed the equity income fund, headed the equity team, and served on the investment policy and closely held business committees. She began her career at J.C. Bradford & Co. serving first in their asset management department and later managing the retirement plan administration division.

 

A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Marcia has served as director of the global Financial Analysts Federation and as president of the Nashville Society of Financial Analysts. Her work has been published in the Nashville Business Journal, CFA Digest, and ISFA Digest. She serves on the board of the Heifer Foundation and on the City of Franklin Pension Committee.

 

She received her B.S. in math from Emory University, Atlanta, GA where she became a member of Phi Beta Kappa. A Harold Sterling Vanderbilt Fellow, she received an M.S. in math from Vanderbilt University.
